1.         Call to Order:

The BGC Board of Directors meeting was called to order by President Graham at 6:00 pm.

Board members present:  Graham, Moormeister, Carter, Grabowski, Keppinger, Voorhis, Stevens, Van Etten.    Absent: Hurd

Duty roster for Director on Duty for January 2021 was circulated.

2.         Secretary’s report:  Minutes of December 2020 were distributed for Board review.   Secretary’s report was approved.

3.         Treasurer’s report:  Carter presented the P&L report for December 2020.  Total income for December was $8,647.45; gross profit was $4,858.31, with $3,789.14 for cost of goods sold.  Total expenses for December amounted to $2,089.41.  Net income for the month was $2,843.92.

4.         Monthly Target Report:  Carter presented the target report for December. We have 17 pallets of targets for about 1071 cases in the shed and about 428 cases of targets distributed in the trap and skeet houses.  This amounts to about 202,352 total targets and 8,094 rounds.

5.         Old Business:

a.         Super Bowl Meat Shoot:  The Board discussed whether or not to hold the Super Bowl Meat Shoot in February. Current restrictions due to covid-19 limit crowd size to no more than 10 people. Motion by Voorhis, second by Stevens to cancel the Super Bowl Meat Shoot this year.  Approved.

6.         New Business:

a.         Multiplex:  The Board discussed cost for multiplex.  Motion by Keppinger, second by Moormeister to raise fees a dollar.  Daily and state fees will increase to $21 per event.

b.         Registered shoot dates:  Regarding registered shoots, the state PITA moved the May 23, 2021 singles marathon to Caldwell this year since BGC hosts the state PITA shoot June 25-27, 2021.

The club needs to encourage and/or sponsor more skeet shoots.  The BGC needs to provide  some incentive to encourage out-of-town skeet shooters to come to BGC for shooting events, possibly by sponsoring some multiday shoots to make it worthwhile for out-of-town shooters to come to Boise, perhaps by providing free or lower cost RV parking, providing some really good prizes, such as money or trophies, not just honors.  The BGC might consider expanding the skeet program to consider the shooting scenarios, cost to shooter, accommodations, prizes.  Bob Purkey put together a proposed skeet shoot schedule for 2021.  More discussion is needed.

c.         Trophies for Buckmaster Shoot:  PITA and ATA have same budget for prizes.  $750 from BGC and $500 donation to cover cost of prizes.  Voorhis will work with Graham on coming up with some prizes, such as coin sets, silver, buckles, money clips, etc.

d.         Groceries:  A few non-board members have debit cards to purchase snacks and drinks and other small items for the club.  The Board deemed this to be appropriate since it helps both the board and the club.

e.         PITA State Shoot:  June 25-27, 2021.  The Board needs to start planning the logistics of sponsoring this shoot.  The Board needs to discuss the details of the shoot, amount of trap help needed, RV parking, a convenient coin-operated practice field such as P1, and other pertinent items.

f.          RV Parking Spots for State Shoot:  Voorhis agreed to help coordinate this with Abe Wilson.

7.         Round Table Discussion

Stevens suggested that the club open on Christmas day to provide an opportunity for people to try out the new guns they received for Christmas, or another shooting opportunity for regular club members, with the club providing some gun safety lessons and shooting instruction for new shooters.  It would need to be well-publicized and would likely be a good PR event.

Carter suggested dedicating trap 2 for continental and trap 3 for doubles, instead of switching back and forth.

9.         Suggestion Box:   None

10.       Next Board of Directors meeting: Monday February 1, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the BGC.

11.       Adjourn:  Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.

Respectfully submitted by Stephen Grabowski, Secretary, Boise Gun Club.
