Full description and what we offer
Premier Training of Alaska teaches Alaska concealed handgun permit courses designed around four specific goals: safety first, learning actual skills, having fun, and making sure your time and money are well spent.
Classes focus on the four fundamental firearms safety rules: 1. All guns are always loaded 2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you're not willing to destroy 3. Keep your finger off the trigger until sights are on target and you've decided to fire 4. Be sure of the target, surroundings, and what's beyond
If group classes don't fit your situation, private instruction is available on any firearm platform. One-on-one lessons let you focus only on what you need help with—you'll cover more material in an hour of private training than in an hour of group class.
Premier Training acts as a receiving FFL for any firearms you purchase online or have shipped to Alaska. Transfer fees:
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| First firearm | $40 |
| Second firearm | $15 |
| Each additional | $10 |
Firearms not picked up within 15 calendar days are charged $5/day storage. It's the buyer's responsibility to notify them when a gun is being shipped to their FFL.
As a Class 3 dealer, they handle suppressor and NFA item transfers from other retailers. Transfer fee: $100 plus tax. Digital fingerprinting and passport photos: $40 combined per person. These digital files are saved for future purchases.
They stock several 9mm and 10mm Glocks and can order others, including Gen 5 models. Glocks qualify for Blue Label pricing (about $100 off retail) if you're active duty, retired military, first responder, or a Glock Shooting Sports Foundation member ($35/year membership).
Current pricing (before tax; add 2.5% for credit/debit): - Standard frames (17, 19, 22, 23, 26, 31, 32, 33): $451 - Large frames (20, 21, 29, etc.): $517 - Single stack 9mm (43, 43x, 48): $416 - Night sights add $82 to any model
They stock a variety of Silencerco suppressors and can order others, typically within a week. Most prices are 10% below MSRP.
Rimfire: - Silencerco Sparrow: $485 (best-selling rimfire can, stainless/aluminum, easy to clean) - Osprey Micro: $539 (converts from 4.6" to 3.1" in seconds—discontinued, limited supply) - Rebel .22: $149 (stainless steel baffles, aluminum construction)
Handgun: - Silencerco Hybrid: $899 (handles 9mm to .458 SOCOM; pistons $75 each)
Rifle: - Silencerco Omega: $1,017 (world's best-selling silencer, .30 caliber capable, includes two mounts and flash hider) - Silencerco Harvester 30: $651 (lightweight, built-in muzzle brake, 5.56 to .300 magnum) - Rebel 5.56 SOS: $299 (stainless steel, full auto rated, completely disassembleable)
You pay for the suppressor, the $200 federal tax stamp (at purchase), and $40 for digital fingerprints/photos (done once, reusable for future orders). They submit your application to the ATF while the suppressor stays in "jail." Approval typically takes several months. You can register to yourself (no trust cost) or to a trust (one-time setup fee ~$60, allows anyone in the trust to use the item).
In Southeast Alaska, bears have associated the sound of gunfire with a dinner bell. Using a suppressor means your shot won't draw them to your kill site—and you won't spook other game.
