Sacramento Valley Shooting Center

Sacramento Valley Shooting Center, operated by Folsom Shooting Club, sits on nearly 1,000 acres in Sloughhouse, California. This is one of the largest privately-held shooting ranges west of the Mississippi River, and it has the infrastructure to prove it.

The facility splits into public-access ranges and member-only ranges:

Public Ranges (No Membership Required) - Range 1: Shotgun range with 4 trap, 2 skeet, 5-stand sporting clays - Range 3: 300-yard rifle range (11 positions, shaded) - Range 4: 100-yard rifle range (52 positions, covered) - Range 2: 50-yard pistol range (24 positions, covered) - Rimfire range: Reactive targets, 8 covered positions

Member-Only Ranges - 1000-yard range — Northern California's only long-range facility at this distance - 200-yard benchrest range - Cowboy Action range at "Cowboy Town" (25 yards, 5 bays) - Action Pistol bays (50-yard, 3 bays; 25-yard, 5 bays) - Silhouette range (200m, 300m, 385m, 500m distances) - Archery range (8 lanes, 20 to 100 yards) - NRA 50-yard range (2 bays) - 100-yard rifle range - 200-yard range

Day-Use Fees (No Membership) - Archery Range: $25 - Shotgun Range: $10 per 25 targets - Public Rifle Ranges (100 & 300 yard): $25 - Action Pistol, Silhouette, NRA ranges: $25 - Range 6 (Silhouette): $30 - Range 8: $28

"The fee for active military personnel and non-members under 18 is 50% of posted fees."

The archery facility opened October 1, 2023, and runs 40 yards wide by 70 yards long with 8 shooting lanes. Target stands are 6' tall by 4' wide and accommodate both compound and recurve bows at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70-yard distances. Weather conditions (wind and rain) can affect availability—call ahead to confirm.

Folsom Shooting Club hosts year-round events including: - Charity fundraisers - Family shooting events - Competitive matches - Regional and national competitions - Seasonal shotgun leagues (Fall session registration typically opens in September)

Fall Shotgun League example: - Target fees: $56 (voting members), $64 (non-voting), $80 (non-members) - Includes trap, skeet, 5-stand, plus shooter's choice rounds - Youth welcome (12+, under 18 with parent/guardian) - Sign up in person at Shotgun Office (Saturday/Sunday)

Sacramento Valley Shooting Center has earned NRA Gold Medal Range status three consecutive years, demonstrating commitment to excellent range services, safety, and support for Second Amendment rights.

Member-only range rentals are available. Submit a Member Range Rental and Use Policy form and Reservation Request Form for group events or exclusive range use. Board of Directors meetings are held monthly and are open to members and guests.
