Full description and what we offer
Seymour Fish & Game Club started in April 1926 when a group of locals from Seymour and Oxford decided they wanted a place to shoot and hunt. They met in a hardware store at first, practiced at a vacant lot near an auto parts shop. By 1934 they'd bought an acre on Chestnut Tree Hill Road in Oxford and incorporated. Today they sit on just over 19 acres and run one of the region's most active clay shooting programs.
"What makes Seymour Fish & Game Club special isn't just the shooting, it's the camaraderie. Our members support each other, host one of the region's largest wild game dinners, and give back through scholarships and youth programs. Whether you're trying trap for the first time or competing in doubles, you'll find challenge, fun, and friendship here." — Jim Weed, President
Two combination trap/skeet fields handle the club's shooting programs year-round. Unlike most ranges, Seymour is the only clay bird club in the area open for night shooting—members can shoot Tuesday and Thursday evenings 3-9pm, keeping weekends free for family and other commitments.

Safety comes first in their youth programs. Young shooters learn shotgun handling, develop eye-hand coordination, and get direct instruction from experienced members. The club gives out two Bob Marshall Scholarships annually to area high school seniors pursuing environmental science studies.
The annual game dinner draws over 450 people and funds the club's annual charitable donations, which have supported Ducks Unlimited, Oxford Ambulance Association, Little League, and local Rotary.
