The ruling out of Delaware this week is worth paying attention to even if you're nowhere near that state. Judge Noreika didn't just knock down a ghost gun ban — she laid out a fairly clear constitutional framework for what can and can't be regulated when it comes to home-built firearms. That kind of roadmap gets used by other courts.

"Functionally ghost guns are no different than serialized guns."

That's the core of it. The serial number on your Glock doesn't change how the trigger breaks or how reliable it is — it's an administrative tool, not a safety feature. A home-built AR lower functions the same as a factory one. Noreika's point is that traceability and dangerousness are two separate conversations, and conflating them is how you end up with unconstitutional bans.

What's actually useful here — beyond the win for FPC members — is her sketch of what would hold up: serialization requirements, registration windows, maybe material standards for printed parts. None of that stops someone from building a firearm. It just creates a paper trail. That's a very different animal than an outright ban, and legislatures trying to regulate this space now have a clearer line to work with.

If you've built a rifle or pistol from an 80% lower or a printed frame, what's your take on a mandatory serialization requirement — workable compromise, or just the first step toward something worse?
