ORPA coordinates hunting activities and education through affiliated clubs. The organization operates under three core principles: Retain, Recruit, and Reactivate hunters in Ohio. They provide:
New hunters should start with: Ohio Hunting License, Federal Duck Stamp (if pursuing waterfowl), Ohio Wet Lands Stamp, Hunter Education Card, appropriate hunting implement, and proper safety planning.
Bullseye pistol competition for shooters up to age 21, with year-round indoor and outdoor practice opportunities. This feeds into ORPA's larger competitive structure for developing young marksmen.
ORPA operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 31-0929183) dedicated to advancing shooting sports in Ohio. The organization publishes a regular blog, maintains an event calendar for competitions statewide, and manages all membership logistics through their membership platform.
"In the silence of the woods, I find peace." - ORPA's philosophy on hunting heritage
Prospective members can join online, choose their membership tier, and gain immediate access to the event calendar and Gunsmoke newsletter. Club members interested in co-sponsorship or promotion should contact ORPA directly for details on affiliated club benefits.
