Foggy Mountain Guide Service isn't seasonal. Black bear hunting is the full-time operation—not a sideline. Founded by Wayne Bosowicz and now run by Brandon Bishop and his licensed Maine guides, the outfit has spent decades developing prime hunting territory and stands in Maine's best bear country.
Maine's Highlands, Katahdin & Moosehead Region - Housekeeping-style cabins (full kitchen in each) - Hunt dates: August 31–September 4 or September 7–11, 2026 - Private land with gate-controlled access
Maine's West Branch Region - American Plan lodging (meals included) - Hunt dates: September 14–18 or September 21–25, 2026 - Also offers native wild brook trout fishing

You don't field dress and figure it out yourself. Foggy Mountain handles the work:
Unlike most outfitters, you don't get doubled up in a bunkhouse. Your party gets private sleeping quarters. Housekeeping hunts give you kitchen access; American Plan hunts include all meals. This matters because good sleep matters for a good hunt.
Every hunter who books receives a complete confirmation kit with detailed equipment info, clothing specs, and graphic illustrations of optimal shooting angles.
