Full description and what we offer
Thad Bowman grew up in West Virginia running the mountains for whitetail and turkey, fishing whenever he could. After high school, he served 16 years as an Air Force aircraft mechanic, stationed in New Jersey, Alaska, and Maryland. In 2019, he made the pivot: passed his Maryland Taxidermist Test and started Bonecollector Taxidermy. He officially retired from the Air Force in August 2024 to run the business full-time.
Bonecollector handles the full range of trophy preservation:
"My goal in this business is to provide high quality work at reasonable prices. Not everyone can afford or wants to pay an arm and a leg for preserving their trophy and you shouldn't have to for high quality work."
Thad actively competes in taxidermy competitions across multiple states and earned a blue ribbon on his most recent entry. He regularly attends classes with award-winning taxidermists to improve his craft—including a recent 4-day whitetail seminar taught by current world champion Wes Mote. He still hunts and fishes, so when you walk in with your trophy, he gets the story and the work.

For waterfowl: fold head under wing next to body, place in a plastic bag, remove air, and freeze—do NOT cut or clean. Federal law requires tagging all migratory birds with your name, address, species, hunting license number, state, date, and harvest location.
