Own 5D Tactical?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
5D Tactical manufactures 80% lower receivers and the precision equipment needed to finish them at home. Their mission: empower firearms enthusiasts to build custom ARs and pistols without expensive machinery or specialized training.
Here's what they actually do: You buy an 80% lower (95% done, legally not a firearm yet), use their jig to mill out the final 5%, drop in parts, and you've got a functioning rifle or pistol. No FFL transfer, no waiting period, no paperwork. That's the whole appeal.
80% Lower Receivers - AR-15 (6061-T6 and 7075-T6 billet, forged mil-spec options) - AR-9 9mm (Glock-mag compatible) - AR-308/AR-10 (.308 rifles) - 80% Glock-compatible frames (PF940 compatible) - Forged and billet variants, with or without Cerakote - Pricing starts around $79.99–$149.99 per lower
80% Lower Jigs - Router Jig Pro (universal for AR-15/AR-9 and AR-308/AR-10) - Pistol Jig Pro (multiplatform, $219.99) - Jig kits with all hardware and conversion options - Assembled in minutes, finishes a lower in 30 minutes once familiar

Tooling & Parts - Custom end mills and drill bits designed for 80% finishing - Lower parts kits - Magazines and pistol components - AR parts, sights, optics - California-compliant variants

No License Required The ATF doesn't classify 80% lowers as firearms because they're only 80% finished. Once you mill the fire control cavity, it becomes a legal firearm—but that happens in your workshop, not in a store.
Cost Control You buy the lower and parts separately, so you decide how much to spend. No markup from an FFL, no dealer tax.
Full Customization Pick your lower, upper, stock, handguard, trigger, and barrel. Build exactly what you want.
Learning Experience You understand every part of your rifle because you assembled it.
Legal Note: 80% lowers are legal federally for personal use, but state laws vary widely. 5D Tactical restricts shipping to: California (restricted), Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C. Check your local laws before ordering.
1. Buy an 80% lower (unfinished, 80% machined, weighs a few ounces) 2. Buy a jig kit (Router Jig Pro, Pistol Jig Pro, etc.) 3. Buy tooling (end mill, drill bits—5D supplies, you provide router/drill) 4. Mill the lower at home (fire control cavity, hammer pin hole, selector detent hole) 5. Assemble parts into finished lower (bolt catch, trigger group, buffer tube) 6. Pair with upper (either stripped or complete upper from 5D or elsewhere) 7. You now have a working rifle
All 5D Tactical products come with a Universal Fitment Guarantee and lifetime warranty. Everything is mil-spec compatible or clearly labeled otherwise.
Their jigs work with all 80% lowers (not just their own). Their lowers work with standard parts. That eliminates trial-and-error and reduces customer returns.
Aluminum Grades - 6061-T6: Easier to machine, multiple times stronger than necessary, preferred for home builders - 7075-T6: Harder, higher tensile strength, mil-spec standard
Finishes - Hardcoat anodized (mil-spec requirement for most receivers) - Cerakote (FDE, black, special editions like Trump AR-15 lowers) - Raw aluminum options
CNC Precision All lowers are CNC machined to tight tolerances from aerospace-grade stock. No hand finishing, no variances.
5D Tactical doesn't sell finished firearms—they sell the unfinished components and the precision jigs to finish them. If you have a drill, a router, a vise, and a few hours, you can build an AR or Glock-compatible pistol at home. They handle the complex CNC work; you handle the assembly and finishing. No gunsmith, no wait, no paperwork—just craftsmanship and customization.
