Century Sportsman's Club

Century Sportsman's Club was founded October 3, 1949 by Ronald K. Barriere and ten other sportsmen who wanted to formalize their commitment to hunting, fishing, and conservation. Today it operates as a full-service recreational facility on 50 acres of wooded land in Auburn, Massachusetts.

The club overlooks a private pond with a sandy beach and picnic area—the setting that drew many members initially and still does. The grounds include:

• •30-target woods walk archery course — considered among the finest 3D shoot locations in the region, hosting regular archery league competitions and scheduled 3D shoots
• •100+ yard rifle range — active rifle program with seasonal competitions
• •Private fishing pond — stocked regularly with member derbys throughout the year
• •Volleyball court — regulation sand court with lighting
• •Horseshoe pits — competitive league play
• •Pheasant pen — club raises birds for member hunts and supplies other sportsmen's clubs
• •Clubhouse and lounge — pool table, bar, and gathering space

Open to the public — you don't need to be a member to shoot the 3D courses. Raffles and prizes awarded at each event.

The club hosts signature events throughout the year:

Annual Frontiersman Shoot — A skill competition featuring black powder shooting, fishing, knife throw, tomahawk throw, slingshot, and more. This multi-discipline event draws serious competitors and casual participants alike.

• •Family Day — Community gathering with activities for all ages
• •Special Olympics — Club hosts annual special events for local athletes
• •Chicken BBQ — Summer fundraiser with burgers, games, raffles (typically mid-July)
• •Seasonal work parties — Members maintain beach, grounds, and facilities

The clubhouse is available to both members and the general public. Use it for:

Members are expected to serve on committees and attend the monthly member meetings (first Wednesday) and board meetings (third Wednesday). The club has strong governance with dedicated leadership:
