Established in 1916, Maynard Rod and Gun Club has grown from small hunting and fishing groups into one of the region's most comprehensive shooting facilities. The club operates 93 acres of property—roughly split between Maynard and Sudbury—with ranges that expanded significantly in 1970 and again in 1997.
Trap and Skeet - Two trap fields (Maynard side offers singles, doubles, wobble, and handicap trap; Sudbury side offers singles) - Two skeet fields (Field 1 has standard skeet with lights for night shooting until 9 PM; Field 2 offers wobble skeet) - 5-stand sporting clays with 8 wireless controlled traps on Sudbury Skeet Field 1 - Open daily from 9:30 a.m. until dusk year-round - Shooters Den provides warmth between rounds in winter - $4/round for members, $5/round for non-member guests (25 targets = 1 round) - 5-stand fees: $5 for members and guests per round
Rifle and Pistol - Outdoor rifle and pistol range - Outdoor action range (pistol action shooting) - Indoor pistol range (currently under renovation) - Practical pistol practices offered - Fun shoots and firearm training courses available

Members can obtain Range Officer status for trap and skeet ranges, which allows free access during normal operating hours and responsibility for opening ranges and operating equipment. The club rents banquet halls, pavilions, and additional spaces for events. Key rental details:
$100 deposit to confirm reservations; balance due day-of function. Cancellations with no rebooking result in forfeited deposits. Cash only—no credit cards.

Fishing in the club's trout pond is restricted to members and their guests only.
