Close Quarter Combat, LLC fills a critical gap in Mississippi firearms training. When the state mandated Enhanced Carry Permit courses but didn't establish clear training standards, Close Quarter Combat partnered with Brothers N Arms to create a comprehensive curriculum that exceeds baseline requirements.
The Mississippi Enhanced Carry Permit lets you carry concealed in locations off-limits to standard permit holders—courthouses, government buildings, certain establishments with alcohol service, and more. To qualify, state law requires completion of an "Enhanced Carry Permit Course" from a DPS Certified Instructor.
Close Quarter Combat delivers this training in 8+ hours, split into:
You leave with increased confidence in your handgun handling skills and a DPS-approved certificate.
Instructor Joseph Green teaches using cutting-edge technology in a supportive, non-intimidating environment. High student ratings across all experience levels.
Scheduling options: - One-day intensive (8+ hours) - Two-day split format - Hybrid: Online classroom (video lessons + reading) + in-person range work
Cost & Requirements: - No prior Mississippi Firearms Permit required - No additional fees or paperwork beyond class completion - Bring: Concealed handgun, revolver, or stun gun; ammunition; eye/ear protection
You receive a "Certified Firearms Training Program" certificate. Take it to any highway patrol location handling firearms permits:
The Enhanced endorsement doesn't expire, but the permit requires renewal every five years. Staff assists with locating your nearest highway patrol office and provides operating hours.
The Bottom Line: After this class, you can legally carry in Mississippi locations where standard permit holders cannot—police stations, courtrooms (except during sessions), portions of establishments serving alcohol, and most government buildings.
