What You Need: A semiautomatic handgun OR revolver with 50-75 rounds of commercially-produced ammunition. No reloads. Handguns and ammo are not included.
Can't decide what gun to carry? Add the CCW Handgun Shooting Experience before your course—shoot 3-6 different models in .380 ACP, .38 SP, .357 MAG, 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP to figure out what feels right.

Rental guns include ammunition. If you don't own a handgun, rent one for the live-fire exercises.
| Gun Type | Caliber | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Semiautomatic | .22 LR | $20 |
| .380 ACP | $50 | |
| 9mm | $45 | |
| Revolver | .22 LR | $20 |
| .38 SP | $55 |
The state requires only 20 practice rounds plus a 20-round qualification. PRS Tactical requires 25-50 rounds of practice depending on your performance. While .22 LR satisfies the legal requirement, shooters are encouraged to use at least .380 ACP (semiautomatic) or .38 Special (revolver) for more realistic training.
Try before you commit. Shoot a selection of popular concealed carry handguns to find what you're comfortable with.
Includes one magazine or cylinder per gun (5-7 rounds). Calibers available: .380 ACP, .38 SP, .357 MAG, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP (subject to availability).
$500 Minimum

Missouri is a "Constitutional carry" state with a "shall issue" permit system—meaning you can carry concealed without a permit, but getting one unlocks major advantages:
1. Complete CCW1 course and receive training affidavit 2. Visit your county Sheriff's Department with affidavit 3. Pay permit fee (max $100 for new, $50 for renewal) 4. Process takes approximately 30 days
Boone County residents: Apply online at Boone County Sheriff's website to save time. Still need to visit in person for signing, payment, and fingerprinting.
Other Central Missouri counties: Audrain, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Macon, and Randolph sheriff departments handle permits.
PRS Tactical is developing CCW2 (Advanced Concealed Carry) and specialized courses. Release date TBD. Email to request notification of future offerings.
Range Safety Requirements: - No live ammunition in classroom - All firearms must be cased and checked by instructor - Students must follow all firearm safety principles - On-time arrival required - Follow all instructor commands
