The Helena Trap Club started as the Helena Gun Club back in the 1920s and has been a fixture in the shooting community ever since. Today it operates as a member and volunteer-run facility with nearly 390 active members.
Shotguns only. No rifles, pistols, or other firearms allowed on the property. The club features:
General public is welcome. You don't need to be a member to shoot.

During league events and registered shoots, the kitchen is open serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and other food.
Membership is required to participate in leagues. The club offers multiple league options:
Trap Leagues run 8 weeks (singles), 4 weeks (doubles), and 4 weeks (Continental). Shooters receive handicap ratings based on their first two weeks of scores. Trophies awarded for both handicapped and scratch (non-handicapped) scores.
5-Stand Leagues include 25 targets per round and run throughout the year.
Women's League offers dedicated shooting events for female shooters.

Individual shooters don't need a squad to sign up—the club adds you to one during signup.
The Helena Trap Club hosts several major registered ATA shoots annually:
New shooters get their singles entry paid for by the club at registered shoots.
The club hosts the W.S.S.A. Season-End Shotgun Sisterhood Shoot-Off and partners with national women's shooting programs. On-site RV camping available during major events.
The club holds an annual membership meeting (typically early spring) where the board is voted in. The board meets at 6 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month—members are encouraged to attend with questions or suggestions.
New to shooting? The club welcomes guests and members are glad to share advice on improving your shooting. Watch the safety video before your first visit.

The range is easily accessible off Montana Avenue with accommodating parking.
The Helena Trap Club operates under the rules and traditions of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). All shooters must read and acknowledge safety documents before participating. Dogs must be on leash and remain behind the sidewalk leading to the traps.
