Full description and what we offer
Dana Charbono operates North Nine Guide Service as a licensed New Hampshire hunting and fishing guide. The operation covers five core hunting pursuits plus fly fishing—everything from September archery season through late winter, with hunts timed to peak conditions for each species.
Black Bear - New Hampshire has a thriving bear population and generous season. Hunting over bait (roughly a month-long season) lets you make an ethical shot or just enjoy trail cam footage. Bears have excellent noses and hearing; if you kill one over bait, you did everything right. Young bears run 80-130 pounds; patient hunters see 300+ pounders.
Whitetail Deer - New Hampshire's deer woods rank among the best in New England. The state manages for good numbers and size. Archery season runs September 15 through December 15 (often either-sex). Muzzleloader and rifle seasons hit the pre-rut, rut, and post-rut phases. Long crisp mornings in a treestand—if deer hunting is in your blood, it's hard to beat.
Upland Birds - Ruffed grouse in beautiful areas, put-and-take pheasant at stocking sites, and woodcock flights that come through in waves. All live in thick, wet, brushy cover. A good pair of waterproof boots with solid support is essential.
Turkey - Spring means gobbling birds. Hunts either roost birds the night before or use locator calls. Plenty of vocal, easy-to-find birds, though patience gets tested on toms with multiple hens.
Fly Fishing - Crisp NH mornings and hungry brown trout. New to fly fishing? Charbono gets you ready for the water.
Before any hunt, a safety meeting covers shooting lanes and gun rules. Loaded firearms in the vehicle end the hunt—no exceptions. Hunter orange is mandatory on all bear and deer hunts from muzzleloader through rifle season (state doesn't require it, but North Nine does).
Each season brings different gear demands. September deer hunting can be miserably hot; early October brutally cold. Better to have and not need than vice versa.
The site notes the business is still under development, but rates and lodging information are available. Charbono can be reached through the contact form.
