Full description and what we offer
BigTine Whitetails is a family-owned hunting preserve operating just outside Cooperstown, New York—home to the Baseball Hall of Fame and Otsego Lake. What started as one couple's dream to build a high-fence hunting property has evolved into a 1,000-acre operation with three distinct hunt packages and over 40 hunting setups.
The ranch is deliberately designed so deer behave naturally. This isn't a canned hunt. Some mature bucks have eluded hunters for multiple years despite being on property.
All hunts include lodging, meals, guide services, and New York license/tag. $2,500 non-refundable deposit due by March 1st. Harvest fees paid only upon success (blood drawn).
Targets giant whitetails scoring 180" and above. These bucks have drop tines, stickers, kickers—serious attitude. Expect to hunt 4 days, archery or rifle. Harvest fee: $9,000. Right of first refusal for next year.
The most popular option. Targets mature bucks in the 150"-175" range. 4-day hunts, upgradeable to Monster on the spot if you see a giant you can't pass. Harvest fee: $6,000. Hunt mornings, evenings, or all day as you choose.
Solid 120"-150" bucks that need to leave the herd to allow superior genetics to flourish. These aren't walk-in-the-park hunts. Focus on evening hunts over food sources. Harvest fee: $2,500.
Archery season typically starts the last two weeks of October. Five-day hunts from high-quality hang-on stands, ladder stands, or ground blinds as needed. Wind drives setup selection daily. Morning and evening hunts standard; all-day options available. All stands inspected annually for safety and comfort.
Starting in 2024. Rifle hunts split the week into two sessions, running through late December. Hunt the afternoon of arrival, two full days, and the morning of departure. Limited availability, first-reserved basis.

BigTine invests heavily in selective breeding. They maintain a separate breeding facility using artificial insemination with industry-leading sires. Whitetails are raised on pelleted feed to maximize growth and herd health. The operation selectively harvests animals to maintain population within proper carrying capacity and allow only superior genetics to breed.
Predator management is constant—high fence monitored year-round to keep coyotes out, which protects turkey populations too.
Summer wildlife observation packages available after horn growth but before hunting season. Sit and watch magnificent whitetails in their natural habitat. Details coming soon.
Book for 2025/2026 seasons Extremely limited 2025 availability. Booking for 2026 with most spots reserved. Meet them at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA (Feb 1-9, 2025).
