Jim's Gunsmithing in Olivebridge handles repair, restoration, refinishing, and customization for all makes and models—whether it's a family heirloom, a hunting rifle, or your everyday carry. Owner Jim York graduated from the Colorado School of Trades in 1980 and has worked as a gunsmith across Colorado, Arizona, New Hampshire, and New York. He spent seven years as Shop Foreman at Numrich Arms before opening his own shop in 1990.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunners Mate (E-5) aboard the USS Hermitage and was honorably discharged in 1981. He's an avid target, skeet, trap, and handgun shooter, plus a serious hunter who's taken game across a dozen states—mule deer, elk, pronghorn, upland birds, and more.

He holds a Federal Firearms License (FFL), New York State Gunsmith License, and New York State Firearms Dealer License. He's a member of the NRA and several regional sportsmen's clubs.
