The Shooting Park is an outdoor shooting facility in Horace, North Dakota, just miles west of Fargo and West Fargo. It's set up to handle serious clay target competition and casual shooting in a controlled environment.
Clay Target Disciplines: - Trap shooting – Up to 13 trap fields with voice-activated Pat Traps - Skeet shooting – 2 skeet fields that are coin-operated (staff can also pull) - 5-Stand – 7 trap machines including rabbit and battue configurations
Rifle & Pistol Ranges: - Rifle range with targets at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards (rifles under 50 caliber; fully automatic rifles allowed with permit) - 3 pistol bays approximately 25 yards deep - Targets furnished by the park
2025 membership reduces your shooting costs significantly:

After membership, you buy points: - 10 points for $100 - 20 points for $180 - 10 youth points for $90
One round of clay shooting (25 clays) = 1 point. Rifle or handgun range use = 1 point. Unused points roll over to 2026 with membership renewal.
They run formal leagues for trap, skeet, and 5-stand shooting. You can shoot multiple weeks ahead, but only one week behind since scores post weekly. League signups open on their website.
High School Home Club – The Shooting Park hosts 8 North Dakota high school trap teams: Davies, Fargo North, Fargo South, Horace High School, Oak Grove, Shanley, West Fargo High School, and West Fargo Sheyenne.
They accommodate groups up to 100 people. Events typically include trap shooting competition followed by food and drinks. The kitchen grills brats, burgers, and 12 oz. ribeyes. Staff can open early for private groups and help organize fundraiser trap shoots.
The air-conditioned clubhouse has a full bar with beer, wine, and cold drinks, plus snacks and candy. They're known for burgers. Wednesday steak nights run May through the season – choose sirloin or ribeye with baked potato, salad, and garlic toast. There's also a patio for watching shooters while eating.

- •Handgun/Rifle Range: Everyone entering pays – non-shooters included. Wristbands issued to verify payment. No shotgun shooting allowed at these ranges. Only park-approved targets accepted; no glass bottles, propane tanks, TVs, microwaves, or explosive targets.
Safety Requirements: - Eye and ear protection required at all times on field - Check in at clubhouse before heading to range - No alcohol on fields (drinks must be purchased in clubhouse) - Guns unloaded with actions open except at firing station - Youth under 16 need adult supervision; guardian waiver required for anyone under 18
