Hoovers Outfitting started in 1992 when Calvin Hoover left the corporate world to open a small gun shop from his home. It grew into a well-known, reputable retail operation that now spans 3,375 square feet in Rockwood, Pennsylvania—centrally located in Somerset County's Laurel Highlands.
In 2017, Calvin and his wife retired and passed the torch to new ownership committed to continuing the tradition of fair pricing and honest service.
With over 150 years of combined shooting expertise on staff, they carry:
- •Firearms: AR rifles (Black Rain Ordnance, Colt, Stag, Springfield, Sig Sauer), shotguns (Retay, FN), rifles (Mossberg Patriot Youth), handguns (Glock 19)
- •Optics & Electronics: Night and thermal scopes (Pulsar, ATN, Sightmark), spotting scope cameras, down-range target cameras, Sig Sauer BDX systems with Kestrel windmeters
- •Ammunition & Supplies: Full selection of ammo, black powder, reloading equipment
- •Suppressors: Now available (legal in PA)
- •Safes: Champion Safes—American-made steel, three product lines
- •Hunting & Processing: Full line of LEM food processing and preservation equipment
- •Accessories: Lasers, scope mounting equipment, cleaning supplies
