Ray's Firearm Training is run by four former law enforcement officers with over 100 years combined experience. They've trained officers across the region and now focus on teaching civilians proper firearm handling, storage, cleaning, and state-applicable laws.
Lead Instructor Raymond Jesus Jr. brings 30+ years in law enforcement and holds multiple NRA certifications including pistol, rifle, shotgun, and range safety officer credentials. He's joined by Sgt. William Platt (30 years LE), Paul DeMelo (12 years LE, defensive tactics certified), and Officer Matthew Normandeau (30 years LE).
For students who've never handled a firearm. You'll learn sight alignment and firing sequence in a 2-hour, one-on-one session. Firearms, ammunition (125 rounds), targets, and eye/ear protection provided. $100 per person. Two class times: 9am–11am or 1pm–3pm. April through fall, weather permitting.
Interactive, hands-on instruction covering pistols, revolvers, shotguns, and rifles. You'll learn firearm parts identification, safety rules, and proper storage. Upon completion, Massachusetts students receive both NRA and Massachusetts State Police certificates; Rhode Island students get the NRA certificate. $80 per person.
Class Schedule: - Weekdays: 9am–1pm or 6pm–10pm (selected days) - Saturdays: 9am–1pm - Private groups available (6–10 people, small retainer required)
Three-hour course covering awareness, avoidance, behavioral prevention, verbal and physical techniques, tactical deployment, and decontamination. You receive a Sabre keychain pepper spray, practice spray, and certificate.
