Full description and what we offer
WarPaint Customz specializes in custom Cerakote finishes for firearms. Kasey Lopez, a certified Master Gunsmith, handles every project from design through reassembly. The work starts with client collaboration—you bring ideas, sketches, color schemes, or references, and the team develops them from scratch or refines what you have.
Once the design is locked in, the firearm gets fully disassembled and cleaned with solvent. Non-coated areas are masked, and the surface is sandblasted with 100–120 grit aluminum oxide to create a uniform texture for proper Cerakote adhesion. High-quality Oracal 651 vinyl stencils are cut with precision on a Graphtec Cutting Plotter.
The base coat Cerakote is mixed 18:1 with hardener, strained, and sprayed with an HVLP gun from 4–8 inches away. After a flash cure at 150°F for 10–15 minutes, stencils go down for the next layer. Each additional color follows the same spray-and-cure process. Once all layers are done, tape and vinyl are removed, and a final cure at 250°F–300°F for one hour locks in durability.
Reassembly happens with Master Gunsmith precision—every component fits perfectly, tolerances maintained, function verified.

Custom PMAG engravings start with design approval—you sketch it, reference it, or let the team build it from AI tools and references. Once approved, brand-new Gen 3 PMAGs are prepped (used mags work but produce less consistent results). Design is converted to vector format in Adobe Illustrator, imported into laser software, and precisely aligned on the magazine.
The laser uses a 210 lens, with speed, power, frequency, and pulse adjusted based on material and desired outcome. On PMAGs, the thermal process creates 12–15 color shades—from white and tan to brown and smoky gray—without paint or dye. Steel magazines engrave differently, revealing bare metal, so a rust-prevention sealant gets applied after engraving.
Each side typically takes about five minutes. Finishing includes a rubbing alcohol wipe-down on PMAGs to enhance contrast, and a final inspection ensures color consistency.
"You're Not Alone" PMAG—profits go to veteran suicide prevention.
WarPaint Customz offers live, interactive Zoom classes for people serious about mastering color engraving and design.
Learn how to create 12–15 repeatable, rich color tones on black Magpul Gen 3 PMAGs using pure thermal artistry. No paint, no dye—just laser heat and precision settings.
Take your creative idea from concept to a laser-ready file, even if you've never used design software. Learn the tools Kasey uses every day: prompt-based design platforms and Adobe Illustrator.
Two design sessions PLUS a fully customized design file built with your input and Kasey's personal Magpul Gen 3 PMAG template for alignment.
Color Class + two Design sessions + custom file + full PMAG template + complete laser training.
Classes designed for MOPA fiber lasers and black Magpul Gen 3 PMAGs. Gen 2 and off-brand mags aren't covered due to material inconsistencies.
