Full description and what we offer
Bull Hill Guest Ranch sits at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Kettle Falls, WA, about an hour from the Crown Creek Saloon and China Bend Winery. The operation traces back to 1903 when Peter Ansaldo immigrated from Italy and staked a claim on what would become Bull Hill. Today, four generations of the Guglielmino family operate both a working cattle ranch and guest ranch on the same land—a 120-year legacy of hospitality and ranching.
"You may come as a guest but you will leave as family." - Pete & Patsy Guglielmino, owners
This isn't a resort with golf courses. Bull Hill offers authentic ranch experiences:
Over 70 horses available for guided trail rides (April-October). Rides last two hours or longer and cover open meadows and forest terrain with views of Lake Roosevelt and the Columbia River. Intermediate riders can book rides to nearby China Bend Winery or the Crown Creek Saloon.
Ranging from half-day to full-day experiences (May-October), these authentic drives move cattle to spring grass areas and upper pastures. Beginner to advanced riders welcome, though confident riding ability required.
After dinner, head to the trap shooting range with ranch staff providing gear and clays. Evening sessions catch the sunset.
Stocked with rainbow trout and naturally spring-fed. The lake dates back to 1903 as Peter Ansaldo's original homestead. Today it's exclusively for guest ranch visitors and known regionally for fly fishing. Also available for swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
Central gathering point serving meals, snacks, and beverages throughout the day. Full bar with a cordial atmosphere for evening socializing. Horseshoes, campfires, and storytelling common after dark.
A 60-minute ride gets you to an authentic old-west saloon with boardwalk, barkeep, and swinging doors. Full bar serves Jack and Coke, draft beer, and cold drinks. Separate "moving pictures" theater in old-west style next door for kids (and adults).
Multiple lodging options from basic to upscale: - Bullagio - Premium cabins - Lonestar - Guest cabin option - The Lookout - Scenic cabin placement - Ranch Cabins - Traditional options - Glamping Tents - Canvas glamping experience

This is a working cattle ranch that happens to welcome guests—not a resort pretending to be a ranch. The family still runs cattle operations while hosting visitors. Expect authentic ranch experiences and genuine hospitality from multiple generations of the Guglielmino family.
