Full description and what we offer
Founded in 1938, Brown County Sportsmen's Club operates on 103 acres north of Green Bay with a modern clubhouse built in 2005. Six automatic clay trap and skeet machines sit on fields overlooking a 14-acre lake—the setting alone separates this place from typical ranges.
Open shooting runs 7 days a week, 8:00 AM to dusk, using a card reader system so you can shoot when the clubhouse is closed. That's genuine access, not "call ahead" access.
League and practice costs: - Trap and Skeet: $6.00 per round of 25 birds - 5-Stand: $7.00 per round - Non-members pay $10/$9 respectively
Membership tiers:
| Type | Annual Cost |
|---|---|
| Regular (under 65) | $65 single / $80 family |
| Senior (65+) | $40 single / $55 family |
| Juniors (under 18) | Free |
All members get access to mandatory safety and operational training before shooting. Classes cover facility equipment, safe operation, and proper cleanup. You can schedule training by texting Ridge Johansen (920-562-4179) with your name and "BCSC" in the message.
Shotguns only—no rifles or pistols. Shot sizes limited to 7½, target loads only.
The club runs on 15 volunteer board members serving three-year terms. Five positions rotate annually. These aren't paid staff—they're shooters like you who handle trap maintenance, grounds work, event coordination, and keeping weekends open year-round. General meetings happen three times yearly; board meetings monthly.
Members donate time to spring and fall cleanup days and special event shoots. That's the operational model: volunteer effort keeps membership fees and shooting costs down.
