Full description and what to expect
The Boise Rifle & Pistol Club hosts monthly pistol competitions sanctioned by the NRA. Shooters compete in 900-point matches using their choice of .22 rimfire, center fire, or .45 caliber pistols at 25-yard distance (with a .22-only option at 50 feet). This is an indoor, climate-controlled format designed for precise marksmanship evaluation.
Each competition consists of four possible relays: - 900 shot at 50 ft with .22 caliber ($10) - 900 shot at 25 yds with .22 caliber ($10 per gun) - 900 shot at 25 yds with center fire caliber of your choice ($10 per gun) - 900 shot at 25 yds with .45 caliber ($10 per gun)
Shooters can enter any combination of relays. Shooting all four relays costs $35 total.
This event is open to shooters of all NRA classifications. Unclassified competitors are placed in Master class. The structured format and distance make this suitable for shooters looking to measure precision and consistency across different calibers.
Signups begin at 9:00 a.m. with shooting starting at 10:00 a.m. Shooters traveling more than 50 miles receive relay preference. The club uses NRA B-16 targets for slow fire and B-8 targets for timed and rapid fire stages. Current NRA rules govern all matches.
Monthly competitions occur on Saturdays: October 25, November 29, December 27, January 31, February 28, and March 28. Sectional and state competition dates will be announced.
