Take your existing skills with a carbine and apply them to working in low light – regardless of your job. We will work with handheld and weapon-mounted lights.
Safety and Human Factors relating to Low Light
Selection and mounting of Weapon-Mounted Lights;
Ready positions and searching;
Switchology: How to manipulate and activate your lights.
Employing those lights in a variety of positions, around cover. Integrating the handgun from the holster;
Judgment and decision-making will also be addressed.
EXPECTATIONS AND OUTCOMES By the session’s end, you will be able to utilize your carbine more effectively in low-light environments for identification, communication, and engagement, with an emphasis on informed decision-making.
ABILITY REQUIREMENTS You should be an intermediate shooter with experience applying the 4 Safety Rules practically while working with your firearm, ensuring you do not endanger those around you. Be comfortable manipulating your firearm’s safeties as well as loading, unloading, and clearing stoppages while working from a variety of ready positions.
Note-taking material
Clear eye/safety glasses and electronic ear protection;
Carbine (rifle caliber or PCC) with a Weapon-Mounted Light and a sling, plus three reliable magazines;
Hand-held defensive/duty light;
Mid or Full-size handgun with two magazines, a pistol-mounted light is optional;
Appropriate belt, holster, and mag pouches;
Extra batteries for all lights, optics;
Please bring your snacks, caffeine, and water. We will break for dinner.
Appropriate range attire for the environment, weather.
Ammunition: 250 rounds of reliable carbine ammunition and 25 rounds for your pistol;
$250 plus range fee of $30 due at signin
