01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Auburn Police Department serves as the licensing authority for firearms permits in North Auburn, Massachusetts. This is a government office, not a commercial firearms business.
The department processes two types of Massachusetts firearms licenses:
Both LTC and FID applicants must:
1. Complete a Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course 2. Submit the appropriate fee (LTC: $100 | FID: $100 | Reduced rates for seniors 70+ and retired law enforcement) 3. Provide valid ID and proof of residency 4. Submit to fingerprinting 5. Disclose any criminal history, restraining orders, or mental health commitments
Renewals: Don't apply sooner than 90 days before expiration. Seniors 70+ renew for free.
You cannot obtain a license if you have outstanding warrants, active restraining orders, or unresolved drug/alcohol treatment within the past 5 years.
Court appearances matter - even dismissed charges must be reported. Mental health hospitalization requires a physician's affidavit stating you're fit to possess firearms.
