## What to Expect
5-Stand is a compact version of [sporting clays](/handbook/sporting-clays). Shooters fire from five fixed stations (cages) while targets are launched from six to eight machines at different angles, speeds, and elevations. Each station presents a different combination of targets, keeping the challenge varied.

What to Bring
Equipment and gear for this program
1Shotgun (12 or 20 gauge, over/under or semi-auto preferred)
- Shotguns must remain unloaded and actions open except at the station
- Only target loads permitted per station rules
- Eye and ear protection required at all times
- Follow all station instructions and safety procedures
- Stay behind the shooting cage until it is your turn
