Full description and what we offer
The Dallas Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) operates as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and active military officers. Founded nationally in 1919, the Dallas chapter brings together commissioned officers, warrant officers, flight officers, and their descendants from every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, NOAA, and the U.S. Public Health Service.
This isn't a traditional veteran benefits office. MOWW members focus on four core areas:
Veteran Support & Advocacy - Career and education assistance including resume building, job placement, and educational scholarships - Housing and emergency financial assistance for veterans facing hardship - Mental health and wellness support connecting veterans with peer groups, therapists, and PTSD programs - Community engagement through mentorship and volunteer opportunities
Educational Programs - Monthly military history book clubs discussing titles like Grey Wars: A Contemporary History of U.S. Special Operations - National Defense Briefing Series featuring retired military officers (RADM Gary Rosholt speaking on Special Operations and Great Power Competition) - Youth Leadership Conference sponsorship and awards programs - JROTC support and patriotic education initiatives
Community Events - Monthly luncheon meetings at Park City Club (5956 Sherry Lane, Dallas) featuring military historians and speakers—$38 per attendee - Patriot Club breakfast series throughout the year - Commemorative events including Veterans Day parade participation and Marine Corps Birthday Ball - Special dinners recognizing military heritage and service
Youth Development - Texas A&M Youth Leadership Conference sponsorship - Mentorship programs connecting young people with veteran leaders - Patriotic education focused on American history and values
"To cherish the memories and associations of the World Wars waged for humanity; to inculcate and stimulate love of our country and flag; to promote patriotic education; and to defend the honor, integrity, and supremacy of our national government and the Constitution."
The organization exists to ensure no veteran feels overlooked or forgotten after service. Members come together around shared military experience and commitment to strengthening the next generation of American leaders.
Membership Options: - Companion membership for former or retired commissioned officers - Patriot membership available through application - Descendants of military officers welcome to join
Volunteer & Donation Opportunities: - Event volunteering at monthly luncheons and briefings - Corporate sponsorships for youth programs - Financial donations supporting veteran assistance and youth initiatives - Attendance at regular events helps the chapter demonstrate engagement for national recognition
