Ranges 231 is a public shooting range facility in Alabama offering rifle, pistol, and shotgun shooting opportunities. This range provides shooting at distances up to 100 yards with both stationary paper targets and clay target shooting options.
Ranges 231 is designed to accommodate shooters of all skill levels with wheelchair-accessible facilities and concrete walkways for safe downrange access to target lines. The range includes designated firing stations on concrete shooting lines with embankment backstops.

Ranges 231 is operated by the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries. A valid hunting, heritage, fishing, or WMA license is required for all users between ages 16-64. Daily use permits may also be available. Licenses can be obtained online, by calling 1-888-848-6887, or through local retail vendors.
The range operates during daylight hours only (except by special permit). Users must follow all posted safety regulations and range rules to ensure a safe shooting environment for all participants. The range maintains professional standards for target placement and firearm handling.
