Full description and what we offer

The Firearms Security Alliance tackles a problem most gun owners overlook: theft. Stolen firearms don't just disappear. They fuel crimes in your community. The data is brutal: 400,000 guns are stolen from individual owners annually, and theft is one of the top sources of firearms used in criminal activity.

The Firearms Security Alliance is a collaborative network of:

  • Gun owners and gun groups
  • Shooting ranges
  • Firearms instructors
  • Law enforcement
  • Community leaders

They work together to prevent the illegal flow and use of firearms through education, awareness, and practical theft prevention strategies.

This is FSA's flagship initiative—a straightforward message for gun owners:

You carry to protect your family and community. But a stolen firearm from your car can become a weapon used against your neighbors.

The campaign focuses on what matters: real theft prevention tactics that gun owners actually use.

In many cities, the majority of firearm thefts happen from vehicles. A car is a high-risk location because it's unattended, easy to break into, and burglars know what they're looking for.

FSA doesn't lecture. They showcase how real gun owners protect their firearms:

Lockbox with Cable

A small lockbox cable-tied to a car seat. Affordable, portable, reduces theft risk significantly.

Never Leave It

Many responsible owners choose to never leave a firearm unattended in a vehicle—period.

Disassemble and Separate - Break your firearm into pieces - Store components separately - Reduces the likelihood a thief gets a functional gun during a break-in

Situational Awareness

  • Who's watching you secure your firearm?
  • Avoid advertising your gun ownership with stickers or decals
  • Don't make your car a target

FSA provides tools for firearms businesses to educate customers:

  • Social Media Toolkit: Pre-written copy, hashtags, and visual posts ready to share
  • Training Videos: 40-minute comprehensive videos on theft prevention integrated into training programs
  • Printable Materials: Posters, flyers, and postcards for point-of-sale displays
  • Slide Presentations: For instructors who prefer classroom-based training
  • PSA Examples: Done-for-you public service announcements from ranges like Stoddard's Range & Guns

The National African American Gun Association—a pro-Second Amendment organization with 70+ chapters nationwide—has made theft prevention a central part of their education and training programs. Chapters use FSA resources to reach members.

FSA partners with TWAW Shooting Chapters nationwide. Leaders get access to:

  • Training videos and slide presentations

Theft prevention isn't about shame or judgment. It's about this: You own a firearm to protect what matters. Secure storage protects your family from unauthorized access AND protects your community by keeping stolen guns off the street. That's the mission.
