"Accuracy is our number one priority and we don't make a suppressor we wouldn't take to competition or into the field, period."
Thunder Beast runs field-based rifle courses taught by Brian Whalen, an instructor with credentials spanning 10th Special Forces Group, Denver SWAT, and multiple international special operations units. His current and past students include:
Course Structure: Classes address shooting from three angles: 1. Physical fundamentals — rifle setup, shooting positions in austere conditions, moving beyond prone shooting 2. Data management — building repeatable zeros and accurate environmental correction systems 3. Environmental reading — mastering wind and condition adjustments through low student-to-instructor ratios and constant field challenges
Students observe, receive coaching, and reshoot to reinforce skills. Classes are designed to challenge all levels—from beginners to national competitors to military snipers.
Classes require 6-week minimum enrollment. Payment must be received 4 weeks in advance. Bunkhouse lodging available at Logan, Wyoming classes for $200. Contact 307-287-2052 to register or 910-257-0848 for course questions.
Thunder Beast Arms is proudly owned and operated in Cheyenne by Shane Coppinger (manufacturing and R&D), Zak Smith (business operations), and Ray Sanchez (sales and customer service). The company maintains an active community forum with extensive FAQs and technical bulletins on suppressor maintenance, thread specifications, and sound reduction testing.
