Paloma Ferrea Pistol Club

Paloma Ferrea Pistol Club, also known as Iron Dove, is a Phoenix, Arizona club devoted to NRA Hunter's Pistol Silhouette. It was organized in the spring of 1974 to bring the rifle silhouette game to smaller pistol calibers.

Steel animal targets are scaled down and shot at set distances. The original course used 40 yards for chickens, 50 for pigs, 75 for turkeys and 100 for rams. Most ranges and targets today are measured in meters, with a minimum target distance of 40 meters. The NRA recognizes four types of Hunter's Pistol Silhouette: centerfire with open or any sights, and rimfire with open or any sights.

Early matches were held at Black Canyon Range, now the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, as well as Skunk Creek and Buckeye Hills Recreational Area, before the club settled into a permanent home at Black Canyon. The club is insured and affiliated with the NRA and the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association, has hosted many state championships, and welcomes informal challenges from other clubs.
