Phoenix Airgun Club is the airgun division of the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club, based at what is also known as the Usery Mountain Shooting Range at 3960 N Usery Pass Rd in Mesa, Arizona. The club runs benchrest, field target, silhouette, 50ft indoor benchrest, and 10 meter pistol and rifle matches.
The 50ft indoor benchrest match uses electronically scored competition rifle targets across three 20-minute rounds of 20 shots each, with classes for Heavy Varmint, Light Varmint and 10 meter rifle. The club also holds the Sonoran Desert Field Target Grand Prix as a major annual event.
Restrictions
- •Club membership recommended for regular access and discounts
- •Rifles must qualify and be chronographed by club officials
- •Heavy Varmint rifles limited to 20 ft-lbs maximum
- •Light Varmint rifles limited to 12 ft-lbs maximum
- •10-meter rifles limited to 7 ft-lbs maximum
- •Only 0.177, 0.20, and 0.22 caliber pellets permitted
- •Flat-head pellets only (no domed pellets for 10-meter matches)
- •Eye and ear protection required
- •Proper conduct per Rio Salado Sportsman's Club policies enforced
- •No uncased firearms during cold firing lines
