CFG Rental Group started in a garage with a simple goal: help filmmakers and college students rent professional equipment at fair rates. That mission scaled fast. After opening their first warehouse in 2014, they moved to their current 50,000 sq ft facility in Pacoima in 2016—and they've been expanding ever since.

In November 2022, CFG acquired Digital Film Studios and rebranded it to CFG Camera Services, fully integrating cinematography into their offerings at a scale nobody else in Los Angeles had attempted. In September 2023, they took over ProHD's entire Los Angeles camera rental client base. By September 2024, they acquired DTC Lighting & Grip in Emeryville to service the Bay Area market.
