Own International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC)?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) isn't a single location—it's a global network of 105+ member regions spanning nearly every country. Founded to promote practical shooting as a sport, IPSC runs one of the world's most active competitive shooting programs, with 360+ sanctioned matches annually and over 200,000 active competitors.
If you shoot, IPSC offers something most ranges don't: varied, unpredictable competition that tests accuracy, power, and speed in combination. That's the sport's Latin motto—Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas (DVC)—and it's what separates IPSC from static, traditional shooting.
No two IPSC courses of fire are the same. Competitors don't know what's coming. You might face moving targets, multiple targets, partially covered targets, obstacles, and courses that demand problem-solving under time pressure. This isn't about bench rest accuracy or just speed. It's about blending all three skills while moving, reloading on the move, and managing tactical decisions.
IPSC recognizes all shooting disciplines: - Handgun (Open, Standard, Classic, Production, Production Optics, Revolver divisions) - Rifle (Semi-Auto Open, Semi-Auto Standard, Manual Action Contemporary, Manual Action Bolt) - Shotgun (Open, Modified, Standard, Standard Manual) - Pistol Caliber Carbine (Optics and Iron divisions) - Rimfire (.22LR handgun and mini rifle) - Action Air (non-powder alternatives with same divisions)
You don't need exotic gear. A reliable firearm, eye and ear protection, and ammunition are your starting point. IPSC emphasizes safe gun handling from day one—all new shooters go through Safety and Orientation courses (S&O) for their chosen discipline before competing. Instructors from the Main International Shooting Instructors Association (MISIA) are trained to international standards.
The ICS (IPSC Classification System) ensures you compete against shooters of similar skill level, whether you're a beginner or an advanced competitor.
Join your regional IPSC organization to: - Access local, regional, national, and international matches - Receive official rulebooks and newsletters - Train under certified Range Officers (IROA-certified) - Compete in a sport with 50+ years of international governance - Stay updated on match schedules, results, and safety standards
IPSC membership typically costs less than a couple boxes of ammunition and directly supports your region's match programs.
IPSC became a WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) Code Signatory in 2021, committing to clean sport standards and fair competition at the highest levels.
IPSC uses ESS (Electronic Scoring System)—the official electronic scoring platform for sanctioned matches. ESS eliminates paper scoring, provides real-time competitor results verification, works online and offline, and is actively used across Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, the United States, and dozens of other regions.
