Idaho doesn't require background checks for private firearm sales between individuals. You can legally sell a gun to another person without involving a licensed dealer, without paperwork filed with the state, and without running a NICS check. This is sometimes called the "private sale exemption" or, less accurately, the "gun show loophole."
