Mark Zimmerman graduated from the Colorado Institute of Taxidermy in 2003 and has spent two decades refining his craft. He's not just mounting animals—he's studying anatomy, attending seminars, competing in shows, and constantly updating his techniques with state-of-the-art methods and materials.
"A clean mount does not mean an accurate mount. Having a comprehension of the anatomy is crucial."
That's the philosophy at Bullseye Taxidermy. Mark pays attention to things other shops rush: mouth detail, eye positioning, ear cartilage, hide grooming, hair patterns, facial structure. He spends countless hours finishing each piece to museum-quality standards.
Bullseye operates as a personalized studio, not a factory. Mark takes on a limited amount of work each year to ensure every piece gets the time and attention it deserves. Every mount that leaves the shop is touched by Mark's hands start to finish—nothing gets delegated, nothing gets rushed out the door.
They use one of the best tanneries in the country. Tannery quality directly impacts how long your mount lasts. This isn't an area where they cut corners.

Clients from Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, and across Colorado consistently mention the same things:
"Mark is by far the most professional, organized, experienced, courteous and talented taxidermist out there. My Mule deer looks as close to 'alive' as possible." — Aaron Zadonick, Denver
"I couldn't be more pleased. Mark's work was fantastic. The price was exactly as he quoted and on time." — Bill Searls
"I almost expect to hear this elk bugling in my house! Mark truly pays attention to the details." — Dan Teetor, Michigan
Mark's work has earned blue ribbon awards at Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska state taxidermy shows, plus an Outfitter's Choice award. Clients report that mounts stay in excellent condition for 15+ years.
Craig sits in northwest Colorado elk and mule deer country. Mark grew up hunting here—it's his heritage. He understands the animals, the hunts, and what it means to preserve a memory of a hard-earned trophy. That local knowledge shows in every piece.
You've invested months of hunting, thousands in a hunt, and effort in the field. Invest the same care into the mount. Mark doesn't compete on price—he competes on quality. When shopping around, compare the work itself, not the rates. Mounts from Bullseye typically outlast everything else hanging on the wall.
