Established in 1989, Valhalla Bijou Hunt Club is a family-owned operation that gives sportsmen and women an escape from city life. Located in Bennett, Colorado, the club sits on around 500 acres specifically managed for upland bird habitat—a working oasis designed for serious hunting.

The property is divided into four hunting fields, each with different cover types:

  • Lower field: Wooded creek bottom with a spring-fed pond
  • Upper fields: CRP-type cover and planted milo, groomed with trails to hold and move birds naturally

Prime Upland Season: October 1 – March 31

You can hunt with your own dog or bring a professional guide and dog for added bird-finding power. Members receive discounts on bird rates and hunting packages, plus year-round access to club amenities. Non-members can book hunts on a limited basis.

Members can run scratch hunts and exercises during off-peak times with field availability. Priority always goes to paid hunt packages.

During the off-season, Valhalla Kennels and Gun Dogs offers professional training and boarding. New pups can start on live birds, or seasoned dogs can stay sharp with conditioning work.

  • Hunter Orange: Required for everyone in the field, regardless of whether you're carrying a gun.
  • Ammunition: Non-toxic shot only, maximum size 6.
  • Licensing: No state license required (except for dove hunting during the September season).
  • What to Bring: Water for you and your dog, shotgun and ammo, all your dog gear, hunting attire. Valhalla provides a fully stocked bird cleaning station.

Book hunts in real time through their website—check field availability, select from five hunting packages, and choose from four different time slots. Member discounts and field priority apply to all online bookings. Prefer the old-fashioned way? Call the office and they'll walk you through it.

Valhalla offers certified hunter safety instruction in June, July, and August (9am–5pm Saturdays and Sundays). Cost is $20/student with lunch included and space is limited.
