Connecticut Custom Airguns isn't a retail shop—it's a design and manufacturing operation run by shooters who compete in field target (FT) and long-range airgun events. The founder brings 25+ years in advanced ballistics and decades of competition experience, including wins at national matches.

The Nautilus SideWheel

A scope focus wheel that solves a real problem: standard large sidewheels are fragile and hard to pack, but small wheels lack precision at long range. The Nautilus grows from 3" diameter (short ranges, 10-35 yards) to 6" diameter (long range, 35-55 yards) using a logarithmic spiral pattern inspired by nautilus shell geometry.

The Hex Louver ("Secret Sunshade")

A 15-degree cutoff sunshade using expanded aluminum honeycomb technology borrowed from the lighting industry—not 3D-printed plastic. Delivers the sun protection of an 8" sunshade in something compact enough to fit inside scope covers.

•Starts with 0.0015" aluminum (kitchen foil thickness), then expanded into hexagonal cells
•1/8" x 1/4" cell depth with matte black anti-reflection coating (<1% reflection)
•Only 1.2% aperture reduction (21-22 internal "walls" total)

They run annual shooting events with results archived back to 2013-2014. Top competitors include shooters from Spain, Austria, and across the USA. The shop actively advises shooters on achieving consistent performance in field target and long-range competitions.

Worked with Sightron to develop the "Héctor's Special" riflescope—a 10-50X60 FT chassis with MOA-H reticle (fully illuminated with multiple aimpoints) instead of the standard single center dot. Built for shooters who don't click turrets and need holdover aimpoints in bad weather or low light.
