Location details and information
Ramapoo Rifle & Revolver Club is an indoor shooting facility with a long safety record and straightforward approach to range operations. The 50-foot range has 9 lanes with heated and air-conditioned comfort, plus proper ventilation and sound abatement—year-round shooting without dealing with weather.
NRA Certified Instructors and Range Safety Officers staff the facility to keep operations running safely. This isn't a retail store; it's a club built around actual range time and instruction.
Ramapoo runs NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting courses that are required for Connecticut's Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers. Two scheduling options:
- •Option 1: Single-day class (9 AM–4 PM) on the second Saturday of each month. $200.
- •Option 2: Two-evening class (6:30 PM–10 PM) on the first two Wednesdays of each month. $200.
Both are instructor-led with no online component required. Register in person at least 5 days ahead; staff available Monday/Tuesday evenings (7–9 PM) and Sunday afternoons (1–3 PM, September–May).
Completion of this course satisfies Connecticut requirements for handgun permits and also covers shotgun and rifle purchases.
- •Public nights: Monday evenings—open to the public without membership.
- •Membership: Yearly membership available at an affordable rate, includes range access and member activities.
- •Targets: Sold at competitive prices to all shooters.
Ramapoo runs a Youth Rifle Program for ages 10–19, introducing young shooters to firearms safety and fundamentals.
