Ramos Action Shooting

James Ramos founded Ramos Action Shooting LLC to give shooters a venue to compete with the exact equipment they carry daily. He's a firearms instructor at US Customs and Border Protection in Tampa and competes as a Master in USPSA, IDPA, and IPSC—he's even represented the US at the World Shoot in Thailand and Police Games in Canada.

United States Concealed Carry League (USCCL) matches run six times yearly at Gun Craft in Ruskin, FL. Match fee is $30. The focus is practical: you bring your concealed carry setup and shoot real scenarios that test your draw, accuracy under pressure, and tactical decision-making.

USPSA Local Matches happen the first Sunday of each month, also $30 entry. Register at PractiScore.

Private Coaching runs $70/hour (2-hour minimum). Bring 350+ rounds, eye/ear protection, and sunscreen—Florida conditions are real. Coaching is also available at local matches across multiple ranges including Volusia, Hernando, Frostproof, and Ok Corral.

Free Monthly Intro Class to the USCCL (limited to 6 students). Topics covered: - Weapon safety and basic handling - Holster draw technique - Shooting and reloading from concealment - Equipment evaluation - Range fee is $30, paid on arrival

Deep River Customs handles pistol work for reliability, function, and accuracy improvements.

"The idea is to provide a safe, fun, and challenging event where they can use the weapon and equipment they carry on a daily basis."

Most concealed carry courses teach legal requirements. Ramos teaches how to actually use your gun under stress—drawing safely, engaging targets fast, and reacting to threats. His resume (World Shoot competitor, CBP National Marksmanship Unit member, 1st Place Team Overall US Police & Fire Championship 2023) backs up the instruction.
