SHOT Show 2026: What's New
From a $549 FN pistol to Gen6 Glocks—here's what hit the floor in Vegas
From The Boise Gun Club Handbook
The intrigue: SHOT Show 2026 didn't just bring new products—it signaled where the market is actually heading, with suppressor-ready everything and price points spread wide enough to mean it.
Budget to boutique, there's a spread this year. Price tags ran from a $499 Taurus to a $3,499 Staccato, with meaningful options at nearly every stop in between. That's less common than it sounds.
- Suppressor-ready design showed up in rifles, pistols, and two full ammo lines—from both Remington and Federal.
- The carry and competition categories got the most attention, not the collector shelf.
Handgunsedit
Glock's Gen6 is probably the headline. The grip has been redesigned with better contours, a grooveless front strap, undercut trigger guard, and thumb rests that mimic what gunsmiths have been doing for years in their shops. There's also an improved optic mounting system. MSRP lands at $749.
FN brought the 309 MRD—a hammer-fired, single-action 9mm with a 5-pound trigger, Delta Point Pro optic cut, Picatinny rail, and 16- or 20-round magazines. At $549, FN is explicitly trying to pull in buyers who've never considered the brand because of price. Engineers told media the low cost wasn't achieved by outsourcing or cutting corners.
Staccato's C4X is their newest 2011, now using Glock G19-pattern magazines (a change they started in 2025 with the HD series), ambidextrous controls, and a new optic mounting system. It starts at $3,499—about a thousand more than the P or CS—and ships February 16.
Zermatt Arms, known for precision rifle work, entered the pistol market with the Waltz 9. Full-size, stainless frame and slide, G17-pattern magazines, and a new roller locking block system. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but it's aimed at competition shooters and anyone who wants 2011-level machining without the 2011 platform.
Taurus launched the TX9 line with a serialized chassis system that swaps between sub-compact, compact, and full-size grip modules. Capacities run from 10 to 17 rounds depending on configuration, and the T.O.R.O. optic cut system carries over from the GX4. Starting at $499.
Diamondback released the SDR-A, a 6-shot .38 SPL +P revolver with a concealed hammer, aluminum frame, stainless barrel and cylinder, and Hogue grips. At $614, it's competing directly with S&W's J-frame lineup.
FN SCAR Returnsedit
FN also brought back the SCAR in three updated forms—the company says there are more than 24 changes compared to previous models.
- SCAR 16S chambers 5.56 NATO with a 16.25-inch barrel, priced at $3,799.
- SCAR 17S runs 7.62 NATO or 6.5 Creedmoor in the same 16.25-inch barrel, $3,999.
- SCAR 20S is the designated marksman variant with a 20-inch barrel in 7.62 NATO or 6.5 Creedmoor, $4,499.
All three get a hydraulically buffered bolt carrier, improved triggers (single-stage on the 16S and 17S, two-stage on the 20S), standard suppressor threads, M-LOK and QD attachment points, and AR-15-pattern pistol grips. That last one matters—no more Dremel work to fit aftermarket grips.
Zoom in: FN also announced two new suppressors alongside the SCAR refresh. The QD556 ($1,299) and QD762 ($1,399) both use 3D-printed Inconel baffles inside a stainless steel blast chamber, with a front-venting design to cut backpressure. They survived full-auto testing and mount via quick-detach, HUB, or direct thread.
Ammunitionedit
Remington went deep on suppressor-compatible loads. The 7mm Backcountry gets three new loads built around the Peak Alloy case for high velocity from shorter barrels. A new Subsonic Rifle line covers 360 Buckhammer, .308 Win, and .45-70 Govt in boat-tail hollow points. New Hard Cast handgun loads—10mm, .44 Mag, .357 Mag, and 9mm +P—are built for deep penetration on dangerous game.
Federal's 2026 lineup runs a similar direction. A new Federal Subsonic line offers four loads (.30-30, .45-70, .308, and 300 Blackout) designed for suppressor use. They're also expanding Terminal Ascent with 6.5 PRC and 300 RUM loads and entering the 6mm ARC space with three offerings. On the shotshell side, Federal is launching the All-American competition line—12 new trap and skeet loads with a Podium wad—plus a Rob Roberts Raptor waterfowl series and five Realtree 40th Anniversary turkey loads.
The bottom line: Between the Gen6 Glock, FN's budget-accessible 309, the SCAR refresh, and two ammo companies going hard on suppressor-ready loads, SHOT 2026 gave shooters a lot of real options—not just cosmetic updates.
