Sutter Union High School's shotgun program won its first High Overall National Championship at the US Open Youth Clay Shooting Championship on July 11 in Las Vegas.
The HOA title is the hardest one to earn — it requires a team to compete across all three disciplines: trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Sutter didn't just survive all three venues; they won them outright.
Driving the news: The varsity squad took first in skeet, first in sporting clays, and first in the combined High Overall standing — a clean sweep that put the California program on the national map for youth clay shooting.
