Maui Center Target Shooting Club

Maui Center Target Shooting Club operates out of Ukumehame Firing Range in Kihei, providing structured firearms instruction and supervised range access for shooters at all levels. The club is run by NRA-certified instructors who emphasize safety and skill development.

• •Pistol Safety Course ($175) – Hawaii law requires 4 hours classroom + 2 hours range time. Covers Maui County firearms regulations, revolver and semi-auto pistol operation, ammunition selection, fundamentals of shooting, and live fire qualifications. Completion gives you the certificate and affidavit needed to apply for a handgun permit with Maui County Police.

• •NRA CCW Course – Full concealed carry certification taught in classroom and range settings. Topics include defensive pistol skills, drawing from concealment, stoppage remediation, carry modes, and live fire qualification. Available in single-day or multi-day formats with NRA-certified instructors.

• •Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification ($195) – For those wanting to supervise and conduct safe shooting activities. Covers range operations, standard procedures, emergency response, and firearm malfunctions. Offered twice yearly.

• •CCW Proficiency Qualification ($99) – County-required or NRA CCW qualification shooting test for current or prospective permit holders. Includes safe handling verification and drawing from holster before live fire.

• •Club Membership ($150/year) – Provides supervised range access with RSO oversight and monthly shooting opportunities.

Classes start at 8:30am. Classroom located at the range entrance. Eye and ear protection provided; bring your own if preferred.
