Full description and what we offer
DMR Gun Club operates as a private members-only shooting facility located at DMR Resort on 77 South Spring Creek Road in Preston. Founded to provide an unparalleled shooting experience, the club expanded to serve the local community with firearms sales, training classes, and competitive shooting opportunities. The facility sits on ranch property in the Cub River area, utilizing the natural terrain for long-range shooting across multiple canyons and ridges.
The club distinguishes itself with five specialized shooting ranges featuring over 300 steel plates positioned at distances extending to just over 2 miles. Remote cameras and flashers help identify impacts at extreme distances, making it one of the few facilities in Idaho capable of supporting true extreme long range (ELR) shooting disciplines.
One of the few shooting facilities in Idaho with steel targets extending to 2 miles, plus year-round heated shooting positions.
The Main Range operates year-round with heated shooting benches and overhead heaters for winter comfort. It features over 90 steel plates beyond 100 yards, paper targets within 100 yards, plus dedicated rimfire and pistol target areas. The ELR Field Range positions shooters at a lookout tower with multiple stage locations enabling 240-degree engagement across mountain-to-mountain distances with up and down angles of ±9 degrees.
The Hunter Range extends 1.25 miles along a ranch ridge with shooting stages from 100 to 800+ yards, including high-angle shots up to 24 degrees. The ELR Heavy and Light Range supports traditional extreme long range shooting with steel stages extending beyond 2 miles. The Tactical Range occupies a canyon setting for move-and-shoot stages with multi-gun disciplines.
DMR offers group long-range shooting experiences using match-grade rifles and equipment, with professional instruction helping participants reach 1,000 to 1,300 yards even as new shooters. All rifles are suppressed for comfort. The facility hosts competitive matches including rimfire, handgun, PRS, and ELR events posted through PractiScore. Private and group instruction covers various skill levels from beginner to advanced.
As a private club, access requires membership or accompaniment by a member for $15 per day. Members receive discounts on store items, range access, and match fees. The facility also operates a full-service gun store selling handguns, rifles, suppressors, and shooting accessories.
