Full description and what we offer
Silver Spur Outfitters operates from a wilderness log lodge in Dixie, Idaho - a town that peaked at several thousand residents during the 1862 gold rush and now has about a dozen year-round residents. The lodge sits along Crooked Creek where gold was first discovered, 38 miles southeast of Elk City.
Rick and Deb live at the lodge year-round and run it as both a hunting outfitter and bed & breakfast. Their barn is the original livery stable built in 1896, one of the town's few remaining historical buildings.
Their hunting territory covers 650 square miles across some of Idaho's most remote wilderness:
Summer operations include pack trips, trail rides, trout fishing, wildlife photography, and historical gold mining tours. Guests can camp in the backcountry or stay at the lodge.
Winter brings snowmobiling on 262 miles of groomed trails, plus cross-country skiing opportunities.
Accessible by road or small airstrip with backcountry charter service from Boise, Missoula, Spokane, or Lewiston
"Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. We are family oriented and will plan your stay around your interests."
The lodge combines wilderness access with home conveniences, serving guests who want either backcountry camping adventures or daily rides back to comfortable accommodations.
