Location details and information
Double Tapp Range sits on pristine acreage just 16 miles east of Boise, off I-84 at exit 71. This is a members-only facility, though guests can be brought by active members for $15 per day. The range is under continual expansion—currently 6 active ranges with 7 more under construction, eventually reaching over a dozen shooting bays and 200+ lanes.
Range #1 is the showpiece: 50 yards deep by 50 yards wide with 27 lanes (total capacity 45 lanes across pistol bays). It has an enclosed building with roll-up doors behind the firing line—roof overhead, walls on three sides, sand-covered surface. This is the primary member range, available 365 days a year during daylight hours.
Other active ranges include: - Three dedicated 25-yard pistol bays - 100-yard rifle range with custom-built steel shooting tables bolted to ground - All ranges feature cement pads and overhead shade covers - Target stands and cardboard backers provided on-site
The Details That Matter: Modern vault toilet systems (seriously—members say restrooms are the best compliment they give). Gate on the west side unlocked for members accessing thousands of acres of BLM property beyond the property line.
Mark Cerchione runs the training program with decades of law enforcement experience. Training is not limited to members—anyone legally able to own a firearm can take classes appropriate to their skill level.
Half-Day Private Sessions: $250 per session. Just you and your training partner in a completely private setting. Mark identifies strengths and weaknesses, tailors the program to what you actually need. Covers pistols, rifles, shotguns, all skill levels from absolute beginner to advanced.
Ammo is extra if DTR provides it. They can supply firearms, hearing/eye protection, and all gear needed.
"100% Guarantee: If it wasn't a great experience, don't pay us a dime. If we wasted your time, we certainly don't want to waste your money too."
Memberships are currently capped with a waitlist. Check back Spring 2026 when new ranges are done and additional capacity opens. DTR is intentional about member-to-lane ratios—overbooking would trash the experience.

Family-friendly environment with safety as the core principle. Mark's philosophy is straightforward: just don't let your barrel point at anyone you don't intend to shoot. He sees dangerous gun handling constantly—people at gun counters flagging weapons without thinking—and makes it clear that "unloaded" isn't an excuse. Treat every gun as loaded, every time.
Plans include sporting clays shotgun ranges, 3-gun areas with 360-degree shooting capability, rifle ranges out to 300 yards, classrooms, picnic areas, and fire pits. New ranges and amenities coming 2025.
