Location details and information
Snake River Canyons Park is a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) shooting area situated along the scenic Snake River Canyon in south-central Idaho. Located near Twin Falls in Twin Falls County, this public land shooting area provides opportunities for shooters to use the natural canyon terrain.
The park is accessed via Shoshone Falls Road. Shooting is permitted east of 700 East Road, where the area is designated for shooting activities. The area west of 700 East Road has shooting restrictions in place to protect other canyon users.
Snake River Canyons Park serves multiple recreation communities, including: - Shooting enthusiasts - ATV and motorcycle riders - Horseback riders - Hikers and general canyon visitors
These restrictions were implemented to manage safety conflicts that arise when shooting activities occur in close proximity to other recreational users.
As a primitive BLM area, facilities are minimal. The area provides parking and access to the canyon rim, but visitors should be prepared for a natural, undeveloped shooting environment with limited infrastructure.
Jerome County commissioners are working to develop a dedicated shooting range facility north of Interstate 84, though this project is anticipated to take 2-3 years to complete.
The area operates under BLM regulations and Jerome County ordinances. All state firearm laws and local ordinances apply. Violators of shooting restrictions may face misdemeanor citations.
