Weihl-Hawkins Rifle and Pistol Club operates five separate ranges that handle pistol, rifle, and shotgun disciplines:

  • Two pistol ranges with target areas from 7 to 50 yards
  • 200-yard rifle range with concrete benches and targets at 100, 150, and 200 yards
  • 100-yard rifle range with wooden benches and targets from 25 to 100 yards
  • Trap/shotgun area set up for hand thrower and pattern board
  • All ranges feature covered shooting areas

The club is open 8am until dusk year-round and stays true to its mission: promoting all shooting sports and safe firearm handling.

Work three club workdays in a year and your work fee disappears next year. Typical workday tasks: replacing target backings, range cleaning, grass cutting, clubhouse maintenance.

All members must: - Hold current NRA membership (associate membership doesn't count) - Illinois residents need a valid FOID card; out-of-state shooters show a driver's license - Pass basic background check - Complete orientation at club grounds - Follow club bylaws and standing rules

Weihl-Hawkins accepts all members regardless of race, religion, nationality, sex, or sexual orientation. The club is affiliated with the NRA, ISRA, IPSC/USPSA, and IOPA, plus works with several local police departments.

Guest policy: Members can bring up to 2 guests and must monitor them for safety and rule compliance.

Prospective members can attend Open House events (typically 10am-3pm) to tour all five ranges and club facilities without shooting. No shooting happens during Open Houses so tours run safely. 2025 dates: May 18 and September 21.

Monthly club meetings are held on the 3rd Monday at 7pm in the clubhouse.
