Full description and what we offer
AthlOn Optics launched in 2014 with one idea: premium optics without the premium price tag. The company started in Olathe, Kansas, then expanded to a full manufacturing operation in Lenexa, Kansas. They don't try to be the fanciest name—they call their philosophy "Ridiculously Good Optics," and that's exactly what they deliver.
The company is US-based with design and engineering done domestically, while manufacturing happens through strategic partnerships overseas. Every product ships with a transferable lifetime warranty—no receipt or registration required.
AthlOn makes three main scope lines:
Cronus BTR GEN2 UHD — Their premium line with Ultra High Definition glass. Available in 1-6x24 and 4.5-29x56 configurations for everything from close-range hunting to long-range work.
Ares ETR UHD — Extended range tactical scopes built for precision shooters. Models include 1-10x24, 3-18x50, and 4.5-30x56. These are the scopes you'll see at PRS matches and NRL competitions.
Ares BTR GEN2 HD — The mid-range tactical option. 2.5-15x50 and 4.5-27x50 models typically priced $900-$999. Still premium glass, lower sticker price.
Midas TAC HD — Budget-friendly tactical line with 4-16x44, 5-25x56, and 6-24x50 models ranging $699-$812.
All scopes come in 30mm and 34mm tube diameters. Many models feature illuminated reticles with multiple brightness settings. Every scope is waterproof, fog-proof, and shock-proof before it leaves the factory.
Cronus G2 UHD Binoculars — Premium glass in 10x42 and 15x56 configurations.
Midas G2 UHD Binoculars — The versatile line with 8x42, 10x42, 10x50, and 12x50 models for bird watchers, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts.
Argos HD Spotting Scope — 20-60x85 configuration for long-range observation and target ID.
Cronus ATS Thermal Scopes — Infrared thermal optics for night hunting and surveillance work. Covered by a 5-year warranty.
Midas G2 Rangefinders — Distance measuring for hunting and shooting applications.
Midas TSR Red Dot Sights — Fast target acquisition for tactical and sporting uses.
UHD (Ultra High Definition) glass features extra-low dispersion technology that eliminates chromatic fringe—the colored halo you see around objects in lower-quality optics. Clearer image, sharper contrast, especially at distance.
| Feature | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Extra-Low Dispersion UHD Glass | Minimizes color fringing for crystal-clear images |
| ESP Dielectric Coating | Reflects 99%+ light transmission for brightness in all conditions |
| Precision Zero Stop System | Sharp, precise return to zero—no overshooting adjustments |
| Locking Turrets | Pull-up to dial, push-down to lock. Prevents accidental adjustments in the field |
| XPL Coating | Protective exterior lens coating guards against dirt, oil, and scratches |
| E2ES Field Flattening | Removes distortion at field edges for consistent clarity across entire field of view |
Hunters — Riflescopes and binoculars rated for all terrain and weather. Magnification ranges cover close-range brush hunting to long-distance mountain glassing.
Competitive Shooters — Tactical scopes are standard equipment in PRS (Precision Rifle Series) and NRL (National Rifle League) competitions. Precision shooters appreciate the Zero Stop System and repeatable turrets.
Law Enforcement & Tactical Users — Professional optics for duty use, border surveillance, and specialized operations. Everything tested for shock and reliability.
Recreational Shooters — Budget-conscious users who want premium features without the $3,000+ price tag. You get HD or UHD glass, waterproof construction, and lifetime warranty.
Outdoor Enthusiasts — Bird watchers, hikers, and glassing enthusiasts who demand clear, bright optics in compact packages.
Dealer Network — Athlon products are available through a wide network of retail stores and online retailers across North America and internationally.
AthlOn proves you don't need a century-old brand name to make solid optics. A Kansas-based manufacturer competing against $3,000+ scopes while charging half the price means compromises somewhere—except Athlon didn't compromise on glass quality, turret precision, or warranty backing. Hunters and shooters who've ditched the name-brand tax for UHD glass and a lifetime warranty don't go back.
